Our advanced research and development team has spent years in the lab innovating, testing and refining what materials we use – and how we use them – with one goal in mind: To make the best snowboards on the planet. We have a unique ability to develop proprietary processes, and we are the only snowboard factory in the world that has our own testing slope on-site. These factors among many others, enable us to craft snowboards that you can trust.
We are dedicated to efficiency and sustainability, and our production process is fueled by a company-wide understanding that EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE. E.I.P. is our research and development mantra. It is written on our walls. And, it is the starting point for applied technologies at CAPiTA MFG. To move beyond the status quo means facing adversity and overcoming obstacles. Only in full acceptance of this idea can progression truly take place.
- OZONE DEPLETION POTENTIAL
- GLOBAL WARMING POTENTIAL
- CO2 EMISSIONS
The NH3 natural gas heating system has an ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential) and GWP (Global Warming Potential) of 0, with a COP (coefficient of performance) of 5. Which means that for every 1 unit of energy consumed by the system, 5 units of energy for heating and cooling is achieved. It’s like making the effort to spin 360 but landing a silky smooth 1800 instead.
The Mothership is also designed to maximize the use of natural light during the day by having ample skylights and strategically placed interior cutaways throughout the entire facility — while energy efficient LED lighting acts as supplementary illumination where necessary.
The company’s philosophy promotes sustainable initiatives, such as the use of reforestation certified wood cores and development of advanced recycling for industrial material. Healthier production techniques and materials are utilized, like water-based inks, plant-based resin and solvent-less finishing.
Snowboarding is a beautiful thing. It is what we love most, and we want it to exist for generations ahead. Our hopes for the future include an environment where endless smiles and fist-bumps are tied to consistent snowfall and maximum air time. You know that moment in any snowboard video where a dude does some crazy move and the homeys rush in with hi-fives and hugs? That's what we're talking about. We want more of that feeling. It’s about shredding with good friends, embracing the might and magic of winter – and we want to make more responsible decisions to help protect that moment for all of us.
